Dental Implants in Sarasota
Dental implants replace missing teeth from the root up, so your new teeth stay put when you eat and speak. Start with a free implant consultation at our Sarasota office.

What It Is
A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed in the jaw where a tooth root used to be. Over several months the bone heals around it. Once it is stable, a custom crown is attached on top. The result is a replacement tooth that is fixed in place and cleaned like a natural tooth.
Implants are flexible. One implant can replace a single tooth without touching the teeth next to it. Several implants can hold a bridge, or anchor a partial or full denture so it does not slip. Your dentist will explain which option fits your mouth.
At Simply Smiles, your implant care is planned and completed by a team you already know. Dr. Kira Gekht places implants in our office, and our in-house periodontist, Dr. Zuleidy Fernandez, is here for gum and bone care. Planning includes a CT scan and an intraoral scan.
Who It Is For
- One or more missing teeth
- A tooth that cannot be saved and needs to be removed
- A denture or partial that slips or feels loose
- A wish to avoid reshaping healthy teeth for a bridge
- Healthy gums and enough jawbone, or willingness to have a bone graft
Benefits
- Fixed in place. An implant is anchored in the jaw, so it does not shift when you eat or talk.
- Kind to neighboring teeth. A single implant replaces a tooth without reshaping the teeth beside it.
- No cavities. Titanium and porcelain cannot decay, although the gums around an implant still need daily care.
- Options for any number of teeth. Implants can support a single crown, a bridge, a partial or a full denture.
- Carefully planned. A CT scan measures your bone, and guided surgery is used to help position the implant.
- Team under one roof. Our in-house periodontist, Dr. Zuleidy Fernandez, works alongside your dentist.
How It Works
What to expect, step by step.
- Free consultation. We examine your mouth, talk through your options and answer your questions at no charge.
- Scans and planning. A CT scan and an intraoral scan show how much bone you have and help plan where the implant will go. If bone is thin, a graft may be recommended first.
- Implant placement. The area is numbed and the implant is placed in the jaw. A single implant usually takes no more than an hour.
- Healing. The bone heals around the implant over about four to six months. We check on you during this time.
- Your new tooth. We scan the area and attach a custom crown, bridge or denture to the implant.

Cost and Insurance
Implant cost depends on how many implants you need, whether a tooth must be removed or bone grafted first, and what the implants will support, whether a crown, a bridge or a denture. Your implant consultation is free, and you will leave with a written plan and fee.
Insurance coverage for implants varies widely from plan to plan. We will check your benefits and help you make the most of them. We file claims with all PPO plans and are in network with Delta Dental Premier. Financing is available through CareCredit, Cherry, Wisetack and Proceed Finance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Am I a candidate for dental implants?
Most adults in good general health with healthy gums are. You also need enough jawbone to hold the implant, which we measure with a CT scan. If bone is thin, a graft can often rebuild it.
Does implant surgery hurt?
The area is numbed before the implant is placed, so you should feel pressure but not pain. Soreness afterward is common and usually mild. [Confirm with office: sedation options for implant surgery]
How long does the whole process take?
Placing a single implant usually takes no more than an hour. The bone then needs about four to six months to heal before the final tooth is attached. A bone graft adds more healing time.
How long is recovery after placement?
After a single implant, most people return to normal activities within a day or two. More extensive treatment may take a few days to a week.
How long do implants last?
With good home care and regular checkups, implants can last a long time. The crown on top may need replacing at some point because of normal wear.
Who places the implant?
Dr. Kira Gekht places implants in our office. Our in-house periodontist, Dr. Zuleidy Fernandez, is part of the team for gum and bone care.
What if I do not have enough bone?
Bone grafting can often rebuild the area so an implant becomes possible. We will explain this at your consultation if it applies to you.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. The implant consultation is offered at no charge. [Confirm with office: whether the CT scan is included in the free consultation]
