Her Path to Sarasota
Dr. Kira Gekht is the owner of Simply Smiles and the dentist who sets the tone for how patients are cared for here. She was born in Ukraine and came to the United States in 1994, settling in Silver Spring, Maryland.
She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore in 2002. After graduating she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she built her clinical skills in general dentistry, dental implants and dental care for children.
In 2007 she moved with her family to Sarasota, and it has been home ever since. Today she leads a team of dentists, hygienists and assistants who share her belief that patients should be heard, informed and treated like family.

Doctor of Dental Surgery
Dr. Gekht graduated from the University of Maryland in Baltimore in 2002 with her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
Clinical Experience in Atlanta
After dental school she practiced in Atlanta, Georgia, gaining experience in general dentistry, dental implants and pediatric dental care.
Owner of Simply Smiles
A Sarasota resident since 2007, she owns Simply Smiles on Stickney Point Road and leads its team of five doctors.

Outside the Office
Dr. Gekht met her husband, Gennady, a few years after she arrived in Maryland. They are the parents of two children. The family moved to Sarasota in 2007 and has made its home here since.

I haven't had the best experiences at dentist but Dr. Szef was amazing at easing my fears and concerns. I absolutely LOVED Hannah as my hygienist as well. Her bubbly personality made my day joyful and she makes you feel very comfortable through the entire process. Keep her! I’ve went to other practices to know she really goes above and beyond. Dr. Sandra Scef was very sweet and really cared for me as well, and at the end of the day, that’s what matters and stands out.
We had a dental emergency when my daughter's spacer broke, and Simply Smiles was fantastic. They got us in the same day , and the team was so kind and efficient with my 7-year-old. Chelcie and the staff explained everything clearly and fixed it perfectly with zero drama. Made a stressful situation so much easier—highly recommend them for anyone needing fast, caring Dental care in Sarasota/ Bradenton area!
