Teeth Whitening in Sarasota
Lift stains from coffee, tea, red wine and time with professional whitening. Choose a single visit in our Sarasota office or custom trays you wear at home.

What It Is
Teeth whitening uses a peroxide-based gel to break up the stains that settle into enamel over the years. Coffee, tea, red wine, soda and simple aging are the usual causes. Professional whitening is stronger than store-bought products, and it is supervised by a dental team that knows your teeth.
At Simply Smiles you have two options. In-office whitening is done in a single visit that takes about an hour. Take-home whitening uses trays made from impressions of your own teeth, with a lower-strength gel you wear at home for about two weeks. Many patients use both, keeping the trays for touch-ups.
Whitening only changes natural enamel. Fillings, crowns and veneers stay the color they are, so we look at your teeth first and tell you plainly what whitening can and cannot do for your smile. If another treatment would suit you better, we will say so.
Who It Is For
- Your teeth have yellowed or dulled over the years
- Coffee, tea, red wine or soda has left stains
- A wedding, reunion or family photos are coming up
- Store-bought strips have not given you the result you wanted
- Your teeth and gums are healthy, with few fillings or crowns on front teeth
Benefits
- One-visit option. In-office whitening is completed in a single appointment of about an hour.
- Custom-fit trays. Take-home trays are made from impressions of your teeth, which helps keep the gel where it belongs.
- A gentler choice. The take-home gel is lower strength, which may suit people with sensitive teeth.
- Dentist supervised. We check your teeth and gums first and tailor the plan to limit sensitivity.
- Easy to maintain. Keep your trays and touch up when everyday stains start to return.
How It Works
What to expect, step by step.
- Consultation. We look at your teeth, gums and existing dental work, and talk about the shade you are hoping for.
- Choose your method. Pick in-office whitening, take-home trays or a combination of the two.
- Whitening. In the office, we apply the gel and monitor it for about an hour. At home, you wear your trays for as little as 30 minutes twice a day, or overnight, as directed.
- Keep it bright. We show you how to care for your results and when a touch-up makes sense.

Cost and Insurance
The cost of whitening depends on the method you choose and whether you add take-home trays for maintenance. Take-home whitening generally costs less than in-office treatment. We give you the exact fee at your consultation, before anything is started.
Dental insurance usually does not cover cosmetic whitening. We file claims with all PPO plans and are in network with Delta Dental Premier. Financing is available through CareCredit, Cherry, Wisetack and Proceed Finance. New patients can also ask about our $130 new patient special, which includes an exam, full-mouth X-rays and a cleaning in the absence of periodontal disease.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does in-office whitening take?
The in-office visit takes about an hour. We apply the whitening gel, monitor it and check your shade before you leave.
How do take-home whitening trays work?
We take impressions of your teeth and make trays that fit them closely. You add a small amount of gel and wear the trays for as little as 30 minutes twice a day, or overnight. Most people finish in about two weeks.
Will whitening make my teeth sensitive?
Some people notice temporary sensitivity during treatment. It usually fades once whitening is finished. Tell us if your teeth are already sensitive and we can plan around it.
Will my crowns, fillings or veneers whiten too?
No. Whitening gel only changes natural enamel. If you have visible dental work on front teeth, we will talk through your options before you start.
How long do the results last?
It varies with what you eat and drink. Coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco bring stains back sooner. Many patients touch up about once a year.
Is professional whitening better than store-bought kits?
Professional gel is stronger, and custom trays fit your teeth far better than one-size strips or trays. You also have a dental team checking that your teeth and gums are healthy enough to whiten.
Do I need an exam first?
Yes. We check for cavities, gum problems and existing dental work so whitening is comfortable and the result looks even.
