Invisalign – For A Radiant New Smile
If you’re really unhappy with your smile it can knock your confidence and even make you withdraw from social situations. Invisalign takes a modern approach to teeth straightening by using transparent aligners that are created just for you. Smooth and comfortable to wear, they’re virtually invisible so whatever your age, no-one need ever know that you’re having orthodontic treatment.
The aligners gently ease your teeth into place based on the movements that your orthodontist or dentist has planned for you. There are no cumbersome brackets to attach and no wires to adjust. Instead you just pop in a new set of aligners every couple of weeks until you reach the end of your treatment. What’s more, you can even take the aligners out to eat, brush, and floss your teeth, keeping your oral hygiene intact. Straightening a smile has never been easier.
The Invisalign process
In order to benefit from Invisalign you’ll first need to attend a free consultation with Dr. Gekht where she can assess if you’re a suitable candidate. Following this she’ll take a number of X-rays, impressions, and pictures of your teeth in order for Invisalign to create a 3D digital image of them. From these Dr. Gekht can map out a treatment plan including exact movements of the teeth and an approximate length of treatment. Using the same technology she can show you just how your new smile will look at each stage of the treatment and that all important end result.
The aligners are created specifically for you based on your treatment plan and you’ll need to wear them for at least 22 hours a day. Approximately every two weeks you’ll change to the next set of aligners in your treatment. You’ll also be expected to visit the dental office around every four weeks so that Dr. Gekht can monitor your progress. At every stage you’ll be able to see how much closer you are to achieving your dream smile. Typically the treatment for an adult lasts for around one year and for teens it’s comparable to traditional braces. Once your treatment is completed you’ll be smiling more than ever.
Who can benefit from Invisalign?
Invisalign can be used to correct a wide range of dental problems from minor to fairly complex, including underbites, overbites, overcrowding, cross bites, and teeth that are spaced widely apart. Their obvious benefit is that they are virtually invisible compared to many other types of braces and they also let you maintain a good level of oral hygiene.
