Veneers

ENHANCE YOUR SMILE AND GET RID OF IMPERFECTIONS WITH DENTAL VENEERS

Porcelain veneers are very similar to fake nails. They’re very thin slips of custom-made porcelain that fit perfectly over your front teeth.

At Simply Smiles in Sarasota, Florida, we offer Veneers that can help:

  • Worn-down teeth
  • Badly discolored or stained teeth
  • Small chips or cracks
  • Gaps
  • Teeth that are only a little out of position
  • Whiten teeth when bleaching isn’t a realistic option

Getting veneers usually involves two or three visits to Simply Smiles. The first is a consultation with the dentist. Before we dive in, we want to make sure that veneers are the best way to get you your dream smile. During the second visit, we prep your teeth for veneers. That involves removing a small amount of tooth structure while using a local anesthetic.

Veneers are usually only ~0.5 mm thick (a little thicker than the wall of a mason jar), so only a tiny fraction of the tooth needs to be removed. Once your teeth are prepped, we take detailed impressions that the dental lab will make your bespoke veneers.

Even if it’s hardly any tooth at all that needs to be removed, we don’t want you walking around looking anything but your best, so the doctor places temporary veneers (this also helps protect your teeth) while we wait on the lab.

On the third visit, you try your new veneers. Before they’re bonded to your teeth, we ensure that you are head over heels about them. If there are any issues, no matter how minor, we can send them back to the lab for adjustments. That might mean a slight delay and another visit to the office, but we, like you, won’t be satisfied with anything less than perfection. Once everyone’s satisfied, and we’re ready to cement in your new smile, the tooth surface is lightly etched to create a stronger bond between your tooth and the veneer before it is permanently set.

Veneers are thin handcrafted porcelain shields worn on the front of the tooth which improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, cracked, stained or worn. Veneers are thin as contact lenses, and are an aesthetically pleasing option of closing gaps, lengthening teeth, and providing symmetry to make your smile more natural. Veneers are intended to last for many years without changing color. They are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in dentistry. Ask your dentist if veneers may be right for you.
